The Institute for the Management of Information Systems (IMIS) is part of the “Athena” Research Center, and was founded in 2007. IMIS is directed by Timos Sellis, a Professor at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the National Technical University of Athens. The mission of IMIS is to conduct research in the area of data management and large-scale information systems. This report presents an overview of its major research activities, which are currently headed by senior researchers Theodore Dalamagas, Dieter Pfoser, Yannis Stavrakas and Professor Panos Constantopoulos (Athens University of Economics and Business), and postdoctoral researchers George Papastefanatos, Dimitris Sacharidis, and Manolis Terrovitis. The institute members cooperate also with several other faculty members from universities in Greece.
